So I just got off the phone with Maki and she told me about this: A doctor who discovered that guaifenesen (?) alone can help the body to deal with fibro by aiding the kidneys... i think that is what she said... Anyway, this is an over the counter drug used for sinus isues, but she said within one month she started to have energy and very little pain. Now a year later she has no pain except with high pressure storms and such!

I too have Fibro which has increasingly gotten worse over the years. About the Guaifenesen-if your taking Cymbalta, you cannot take Guaifenesen on a daily basis. This is what I was told by several physicians & my pharmacist. It really sucks because I have read about it & would like to try it if it would help. But getting off the Cymbalta is sheer he!! I also have to take muscle relaxants, Rx pain meds, Mobic, etc. But I also take chelated Magnesium (not all magnesium is the same for different disorders). If you don't already know this, Fibro patients are usually deficient in Magnesium. Also taking a combo supplement if Glucosamine/Chondriton helps too.

One product that Alicia supports and it is great for Fibro patients is called Raw Green Organics. I researched it & decided to try it. I make smoothies with the pea protein, green powder, organic bananas & rice milk. It tastes wonderful & also the supplements help. It basically flushes the system if toxins. And if you are taking certain meds, you know constipation is another problem added to your life. This helps with that, you feel better, healthier, and I have more energy. Another supplement that helps is mint with chlorophyll. That helps detox the system too.

The last thing that helps me & several other Fibro sufferers I know are Colonics. I was introduced to this when I was pretty much bedridden. With Fibro being an autoimmune disorder, you get rid of all those toxins that keep you in pain, the endless fatigue, etc. keep in mind, one treatment isn't an instant cure & you have to stick with it to detox your colon, liver, kidneys, etc. after several months & a dear women who has become a lifelong friend (she is a Fibro sufferer too), I started getting my life back somewhat. The weather has gotten cold & I'm hurting more. But for those who are literally balled up in a fetal position with a blanket, have a friend or family member drive you to a colonic therapist. It Does help. I too tried the lowest dose of Lyrica for 10 days & literally felt like my body was breaking down to die. Stay away from it--it's terrible! My husband was ready to take me to the ER & we called my doctor who said stop taking it immediately.

If anyone has any different success with things to help with Fibro, please post. I rarely eat meat of any kind, I have a lot of fresh bananas, vegetables, drink a LOT of water, have eliminated most all dairy, buy organic & local foods, no wheat, and try to stay away from processed foods as much as possible.

Modifilan is a brown seaweed extract and one of the compounds called fucoidan has potent anti-inflammatory properties.

Low serotonin has been found in many individuals with fibromyalgia. Magnesium malate has shown to be helpful at reducing the pain.

HI I also have Fibro, graves disease and severe anxiety...yup am a mess!!! haha. I refuse to take the lyrica that my Doc gave me as I havent heard many good things Ihave been completely meat free for 1 month now (did try back in August but fell off the wagon) I feel lighter and better on the plant based diet. I am trying to heal myself using only natural ingrediants as i cant put any more toxins in my body.....I have 5 kids and I have to been around for them I hate the fact that sometimes I cant even get out of the house due to the "aches and pains".............anyone who knows of anything I can do to give me energy and my life back I would greatly appreciate. I live in a very small town so getting to acupuncturist (sp) etc takes a lot of hunting down.
Thanks xx

I have found that going vegi helped a lot and would like to go vegan but struggle with giving up cheese and yogurt. I am also on gabapentin which helps the pain but not the fatigue or brain fog.
