My hair is curly and frizzy. I have been usinging PureOrganic Technolngy hair styling foam. The lable in the back says no animal testing, and no animal by-producs, and its organic. I dont really know all the nonvegan ingrediance in hair and beauty producs. I use more of the produce then I would non vegan hair producs, however, I think its worth it. My hair is actually controlable. I acutally found it at Fred Meyer, in the natural section. Good Luck, let me know if you find anything better.

Products can help, but your method of drying can be just as important. I have naturally curly hair and deal with it in three ways:

1. Wash it at night, braid it, then use my diffuser on it in the morning. I have to use my straightener on my bangs, but curl the ends of them so they blend in (I push them to the side right now). Afterwards, I use a silk-like product (or something that works w/ dry hair) to keep the frizz down.
2. I wash it in the morning, put some cream/ gel product (something that works w/ damp hair) in. Scruch the hair while it air drys. Allow hair to air dry about 70%, then use my diffuser (it makes the curls a bit bouncier).
3. Brow dry my hair straight w/ my T3 blowdryer. The blowdryer is more expensive, but I spent 17 mins last night drying my hair (which it longer than my bra line) instead of the usual 45. Plus, the hair was so smooth that I didn't need to take my straightener to it. The dryer also has a 4 yr guarantee.

BTW: my daughter has curly hair - and claims she hates it, too!

Her stylist never thins her hair - and keeps her layers to a minimum. This keeps the weight of the hair on your side in straigtening. When you thin the hair - thinking you'll get less poof - those individual strands that were cut shorter - curl up and create MORE poof.

I have dealt with curly hair my whole life! Ugh!
If its humid out I'm in big trouble!!
Remember that FRIENDS episode where Monica's hair is massive frizzy from the humidity. I could totally relate...

Anywho... I have learned a great thing to help my hair.
A big curling iron. The ones that roll the huge curls.
So what I do is keep all the hair undernearth like normal, and curl my front and top and a little in the back w/ this iron. Then I run my fingers (never use a brush on dry curly hair) through it to style it and put a little styling hold spray, more fingering then I am done, I am all smooth but still curly. I should post a before and after picture... you wouldn't believe it.

XOXO

ha - curly, frizzy hair!! I had major issues with that as a teenager. I hated my hair. Now the only thing I do differently, is that I do nothing. No products, no hair dryers - I just let nature be my stylist (Well I do straighten my fringe!)
Now I love my (as a friend once described it) wild scottish hair!

I use John Masters products - shampoo and condition, then put in detangler and don't wash it out, then put in some of his essential oil stuff that calms to frizz. The things that really help are (like someone else above!) putting it in two braids when I go to sleep, and not washing it for as long as possible - it looks better after some of the natural oils build up - also, find someone whose really good at cutting curly hair , that changed my whole thing -

This towel has really saved my wavy hair, I dont' really like to spend time "fixing" it, so I always look for solutions that will help me air dry.

After showering, I detangle my hair, squeeze excess water out, and then wrap it in a Curl-ease towel. I leave it up in that until I am done getting dressed, makeup, etc. Then I take it down and apply my products (not sure if they're vegan...sound safe, though), scrunch, and then leave it alone.

The towel seems like muslin to me, perhaps a high quality muslin? You may be able to make your own.

It really does make a difference, leaves my hair much less frizzy than when I used a microfiber towel or a regular terry bath towel.

Hey curly girls. Try the deva line. I have had great results with all of the products. especially the no poo and one conditioner. I checked my products again and they do not contain any animal ingredients as far as I am aware. They also are 100% sulfate free. I have curly frizzy thick hair, and these products are designed for all sorts of curls. check it out

you can order the products online. the salons are located in NY. they are super aware of the environment as well.
