So I will be moving to New York by the end of the summer
! It's been a three year dream (maybe even longer). I'm making a trip next week to reacclimatize with the subway system and find areas where I wouldn't mind living. For my trip though, I'd like some opinions on the best places to eat. I have Candle 79 on my list. If there are any places in SoHo, I will definitely try it out!
And if anyone has great advice for my big move, I'd love that too!
Thanks!!
Congrats on moving to NYC!! It's a great city to live in. Candle Cafe (next to Candle 79) is a cheaper, more casual compliment to Candle 79. I can't think of anything in Soho (though the veggie sandwich at Cafe Cafe is awesome) other than Souen which is veggie. Spring St Natural in Nolita is great and walking distance from Soho. Pure Food & Wine is a great, pricier raw restaurant. Also has killer cocktails. s'Nice in the West Village is also yummy. Good luck with your move!! Brooklyn has tons of awesome vegan/veggie restaurants if you are heading over the bridge.
Welome in advance! If you're on the Upper West Side you might also want to check out Peacefood (vegan) on Amsterdam and 82nd, Ozu (macro/pescetarian) on Amsterdam and 88th, and Mana (also macro/pescetarian) on Amsterdam and 92nd.
All the Blossom restaurants (vegan) are great when you want to splurge a bit. There are three locations in Manhattan: UES, UWS, and Chelsea.
Thanks so much for the info! I want to either live in SoHo or Bed-Stuy but, I'm willing to look all around. Can't wait to check these places out...they may be the deciding factor in where I live! lol
there is a huge farmer's market in Union Square 4 days a week. It takes me about 20 min to walk there from the West Village. I wish I lived closer to it!
MmMMmm you have to try Blossom - It's on 9th ave b/w 21st and 22nd but it's worth the trip!! And Candle Cafe or Candle 79.... OH and DEFINITELY BabyCakes!!
