Flirt for the day.

Since I can't stand to eat eggs anymore I thought I would try a blueberry smoothie with rice milk for breakfast and homemade hummus with avocado, tomato, and lettuce for lunch. It's sooooo easy to make! and crazy delicious! I'm getting better at flirting!!! Almost a full day of vegetarian. Maybe tonight's spaghetti will be meatless...my kids won't be happy but I will.
Your kids may never notice, if you don't tell them. I sometimes mix my sauce in with the pasta, so that's what I did last time, and my 18 y.o. never noticed. I used some crumbles in the sauce last night, and added onion and bell pepper. 2 of us had cheese ravioli (we're flirts) and son/hub had meat ravioli. I didn't say anything, but when husband sat down and started eating, he looked around and saw my daughter eating what looked like the same thing. He said "Is there meat in this?" and I replied "yes" Cause there was meat in his ravioli. Then he went "Oh, is K eating?" I told him yes, and then that hers were cheese ravioli. After a month, he still doesn't realize non meat food isn't salad. Son never batted an eye. I guess my point is be nonchalant about it if you think it's a mental thing with them. I serve lots of other things we ate pre diet change, like steamed broc, bread, salad. I changed the margerine yesterday, to Earth Balance and no one said anything. I also had some organic blue corn chips and bean dip (highly distracting to the guys! lol). We've had the brand before, so they were happy with the meal.
Your smoothie sounds delish! We're trying to switch our milk over. I love hummus too. Our family motto changed from "It's not dinner till someone spills something" to "Everything tastes better with hummus!" ha
QE, I agree with you....it is a mental thing! If you don't tell them what they are eating I have found that 90% of the time they love it and not till after say, "What was that?" when they remember I "eat wierd things" HAHA!
