I just bought "The Kind Diet". I couldn't put it down. My sister and I just did a raw cleanse and after reading Alicia's book I vowed to go vegan! I told my sister and she is on board! I gave myself a time line to become completely vegan. I guess you can say I am in the flirting stage! If anyone has any tips or tricks to help me out, that would be amazing! I am pretty concerned about breakfast. I give myself 30mins to get ready and get out of the house in the morning. I eat breakfast at the office, so I need things that I can either make the night before or in my office! I have a juicer, blender, and microwave in my staff room! So any and all recipes would be a great help!
If you could give yourself just a bit more time in the morning, try the apple-date oatmeal recipe in TKD. It's super fast and really easy, and tasty! I found I had to cut back on the maple syrup though, since going vegan I am much more sensitive to sweeteners. You could also just have some whole grain toast (Food For Life makes some good ones) with thinly spread nut butter and fruit-sweetened jam, just watch the nut butter if you're trying to lose weight.
Keep at it! I went back to being a vegan / veggie. Just an FYI you might get sickish.. like runny nose etc. Just your body detoxing :) Hazel is right on with the apple-date oatmeal. YUM!
Thanks for the encouragement! I will try that recipe!
