Hey Ruthy,
I am 32 and in NSW, I was wondering about the foods in Alicia's book. I received my book in the mail today - thanks amazon.com - and I was looking at the recipes and I have never seen vegan cream cheese etc. I have tasted the soy cheese available at Woolies and Coles and they are gross. If you have any info let me know and vice versa.

Hey Trac.
I have found a vegan store in Fremantle (crueltyfreewa.com.au) but there are a few online stores that are quite good. Unfortunately, for any "cold" items, they charge an extra fee to put in a cold bag (and not all will deliver outside of your area anyway). This is on top of your shipping fee, so not always practical. Have a look online though as there may be something near you. I never knew we had anything until a few months back. The cheezy edam-style and mozzarella ones are quite good now...nowhere near as bad as they were!!! How long have you been Vegan for? :-)

Hi Trac and Ruthy,
There are a few aussies on here already. Trac I totally agree with you that most of the soy cheeses available are pretty gross, plus if you read the ingredients some of them are hiding some nasty things in there. I just do without cheese mostly (never was a cheese fan so not so hard for me) but some coles stores have started stocking the tofutti brand of cream cheese. What part of NSW are you from Trac?
