So I finally got the Kind Diet in the mail, and have had the hardest time putting it down. I'm starting on my adventure into the world of and idea of being vegan. It is something I never thought I would do, but always thought I should. I love steak, and cheese, but I am willing to give it all up for the sake of my health. Reading Alicia's book is putting all the things I sort of had an idea about meat and dairy into something that is real. I have enough health issues, arthritis, asthma, allergies, and I'm constantly getting sick. If giving up meet and dairy can make it so I can feel better in so many ways, I think it's worth it. I'm doing this for me. To feel good in my skin, to feel like by body works properly for once! I think I can do it. The hardest part will be that my fiance is more or less a carnivore, and is not willing to change that. Aside from a few faux meet meals I'll make for us, I need to be prepared to say no when he offers me that slice of pepperoni pizza. So I will always have meet and dairy in my house, but I need to keep reminding myself why I am choosing to go vegan. Here's to a plant-based diet! Lets glow together!
