Hi Everyone! I had actually seen this episode of Oprah for the second time last week. So after finally finding The Kind Diet at the 4th bookstore, I find myself at the end of my 7th day eating a vegan diet! I had NO intentions but here I am, sticking to it. (I'm usually a cheater on diets) but I have not cheated and compared to other diets I've done, I feel far less deprived. Strange. I do find it harder without some dairy products but have managed. My soon to be 16 year old daughter has joined me and she's going strong too! On to day 8!! :) Marie
Way to go Marie and your daugther!!! I too saw her on Oprah and then the repeat, that whole episode was great actually. My best friend has been Vegan for the past 8 years so I have done some cooking for him before and had a good intro to the lifestyle. But after seeing Alicia on Oprah with her vibrant and passionate talk I too hunted down the book. I had to order it and get it shipped to my island of Newfoundland as the book selection here is not so hot.
I'm still reading through but am flirting with it at the moment but I do think I will move towards a full vegan lifestyle. Although I do love Honey and not sure if I could give that up haha. I'm not even thinking about it as a diet, I just want to know what is up with my body and I think this may be the path to follow.
