Did anyone else watch jamie olivers food revolution!! ok, it wasn't emphasizing vegetarianism/veganism, but it did emphasis getting healthier and back to whole fresh foods!!! I'm definitely going to be watching this each week and want to try to get our school leaders to do so as well. If you have kids eating at the cafeteria (I do) you have to see this. The usda food guidelines for schools makes no sense and is disgusting!! I really see this show as another great step in getting mainstream america healthier. Yay Jamie!

I really enjoyed watching it. Looking forward to seeing more episodes. Want to show it to my kiddos as well so they can learn to make healthy food choices.

I missed it! And I love Jamie Oliver! He is considered a national treasure in Europe for all he has done, I am so glad he is doing it here too!!!

I did watch it...I loved it. Those lunch "cooks" at the school really got me angry that they truly believe there is nothing wrong with serving their processed, frozen, NOT fresh food. And I agree, the usda food guidelines are horrible! I look forward to the next episode.

I watched about 10 minutes and got so frustrated that I had to turn the channel. The school policy says 2 "breads" must be served at every meal. Pizza dough is healthy but whole grains aren't?

I agree with Alyssa. Those were some angry cafeteria ladies.

I would love to hear how it went since I couldn't stand to watch it.

Oh NO, I so wanted to catch this - I though it was coming up NEXT week...shall definitely be there for the rest! I am SO on board from what I've seen- we SHOULD get angry (in a constructive way like this), that's the whole point! What IS isn't working and it isn't right, and hopefully Jamie is all about what SHOULD be, right? :)

I felt so bad for Jamie. He was there to bring about positive, healthy change, and he was getting sidelined all along the way. I bet if they educate the kids at an assembly about how healthy foods effect your body, vs. unhealthy foods, and offered healthy meals, it would be a "no brainer" for the kids. Kids are smart and resilient. I am excited to see where this show is headed. Major change is needed.
I work with kids, and have been volunteering at an elementary school for 12 years. The food is DISGUSTING. All of the food is brown and processed. Usually no fresh foods. All packaged, soggy, battered, cheesy, disgusting food. None which I would consider "brain food."
Here's to change!
Peace,
Cassi

I think Jamie is on Larry King tonight, CNN.
