Hi! Last minute Lucy here, leaving tomorrow for a road trip to Florida (from NY). Has anyone made the trek and know of any veggie friendly places to get grub on the way down? :) Thanks!

Hi Ava-
I just made the trek in February and made a point to stop in Ft. Lauderdale to go to Sublime. I was pretty last minute about researching stops as well, so i found myself eating many veggie sandwiches at Subway. I packed lots of vegan snacks which definitely helped. Enjoy the trip!

The university of maryland is only about a mile from 95...and has a fantastic vegetarian Co-Op in the student union. The food rocks! Otherwise, there are chains such as Chipotle, where you can make it work if you need to...or California Tortilla has a great salad that you just need to skip the cheese. Have fun it's a great ride!

University towns are good for finding veggie food. Also, check out happycow.net for towns you know you will be stopping.

Thanks everyone for responding! We ended up just doing what was easy for the trip (two little ones in tow) and I now feel like crap. I start officially flirting tomorrow. Any meat I do buy for the rest of the family for the few nights I do cook it for them will be from Whole Foods now that one has opened up somewhat near me (45 minutes). :D
