Remember that HFCS, just like the meat and dairy industry, has millions or maybe billions of dollars in lobbying efforts on their side. They can manipulate any scientific study they want to in order to make people eat their crap.

Same goes for soy. I know that TKD supports the theory that soy causes hormonal imbalances but there are also studies to the contrary. Again I can't help but think it is a smear campaign.

Jae--yes, you are correct. I love that everyone here is so consciencious about their health. Finding like-minded folk has been the one of the greatest assets of the internet. However, another product of it has been misinformation that is posted without fact checking and evidence. Agave is not evil. There is no reason to dump it down the drain. Everyone, please read these links to help inform you on the subject.

What about pure honey instead? I thought HONEY, the good kind, is good for you.

Did anyone see 'Vanishing of the Bees' with Ellen Page?

I think that says it all.

Honey is great, but try to buy local if possible.

yes Mary L--as with everything--Everything in moderation is the best advice. As a vegetarian i can get caught up with eating too much soy easily, i just keep the amount in check and eat a varied diet.

There's some controversy about whether honey is vegan or not:

I don't use it but if it's a trace ingredient in something I don't worry about it.
