Can't cook beans

Okay I have never cooked dried beans before. I soaked them all night. I boiled them for 20 minutes this morning and they have been baking for 5 hours and sre stillnot soft. What am I doing wrong? Please help.

Were you trying to make baked beans?
When I make beans, I too soak em' overnight. Then I boil the water w/ the beans in it, turn it down to a soft boil, and let them cook for a couple of hours, with the lid partially open. The beans come out supper soft and yummy!
