Not sure where to post this but I am looking to buying either a vitamix or blendtec blender and am leaning towards the blendtec with the 96oz carafe with the 4" blade....but does anyone have any experience with either blenders....I specifically want to make the smoothest cashew butter possible for sauces etc...any info or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

A good comparison for the blenders is whether or not you like an automatic car or a stick. A vita-mix is more like a stick with the variable speed, while the blentec (with pre set settings) is more like and automatic.

hope it helps, even if just a bit. =)

i personally have the vita-mix, and someone did a test on it (with an electromagnetic frequency detector) and it didn't emit many (if any). i am not sure about the blendtec though. i really like the vita-mix. =]

I'm in the same boat! I was trying to decide between the two mixers, and I've decided on the Blendtec after reading this post (and watching those YouTube videos):

I read a lot about both, and many Bloggers have posted side by side comparisons. I ended up with the Vita-Mix because of the good reviews, the customer service, the very long warranty and the type of package they offered at the time.

Another thing that helped me make my decision was survey'ing the local smoothie shops. When I went to one that I really liked the texture of my smoothie, I'd ask which brand they used, and all said Vita-Mix. I asked at one of the places how often their machines needed to be serviced and they said NONE. I figured if it could handle their load, all those years, then I knew it would handle our load.

Anyway, I haven't been dissapointed and have used it at least once a day since. Some times 3 or 4 times a day..

I think this boat is crowded :) I was in it too. Just could not decide.

Caroline I love your automatic or stick metaphore - it's perfect.

I went with the Vitamix because of the manual control and noise factor and could not be happier! This Blendtec Vitamix Review really helped me decide.

Either way I'm sure you will be happy :)

I have been looking into the blenders too. I always go to Amazon and read the reviews. I also heard the blendtec was louder!!??? I do know that Jamba Juice uses the vitamix. Sorry for the rambling, just putting in my two cents.lol
But, I'm going towards the vitamix.........
