Hey all! I just joined the "flirting" way of the kind diet. I know there is a bit of detoxing that is going to happen to my body. I know Alicia says your body will rid of toxins in different ways. I know that I am visiting the bathroom more but am feeling some pings and pangs in my body and was wondering if anyone has some wierd feeling going on in their bodies? I have been meat, chicken and dairy free for a week. Looking forward to hearing what went on with your body. Thanks everyone! Eve
Hi Eve. I just joined this site and am currently doing the same thing you are. I have been meat free and mostly dairy free for about a week now also. I am struggling with omitting dairy completely. However, I am already noticing that my stomach is reacting very differently to dairy now. My stomach hurts and cramps up when I eat it. This is strange for me because I ate so much dairy before that I cannot imagine my body already reacting so differently....but it seems as though it is.
I would be interested to know how you are handling your "detoxing". I am a little nervous about how my body will react.
I actually had to go to my GYN becasue I was feeling pings and pangs and the doc said it was probably my intestinal tract which is near the ovaries and I am feeling lots of movement. Weird huh! I feel lighter though which is great but I am having a hard time finding time to cook when my kids are so busy with sports. I have been meat,dairy free for almost two weeks. Visiting the bathroom alot. Sorry to get so personal.
I have been vegan for almost two weeks now, and I have been feeling some pangs too, but it was "that time of the month" for the first week, so I wasn't sure if it was that or my detoxing. I have been visiting the bathroom more regularly (which is great), but I also experienced a lot of lower back pain and bloating at first. Finally, the back pain is going down, and the bloating is still somewhat present, but I've noticed that a lot of other people are dealing with that too. Ive tried cutting back how much soy I eat, which seems to definitely help! Good luck!
Katie- OMG! I have lower back pain too! I knew a while ago I hurt my back so I thought I aggrivated it but it was exactly when I started this lifestyle. Glad to know I am not crazy! Are you losing weight?
Yes when fasting(which is a form of detox) your body can case backaches, headaches from releasing toxins so definitely I'd say detox can cause pings and pangs.
If you can afford it get a full body massage 2 times a week. I had the option after a car accident and man is it nice and best part is toxins come out quicker. So if you are already releasing them from detoxing then this may help relieve pains.
I've been dairy free for over a week now and am meat free for 3 days. I feel bloated, stomach ache, sinus and headaches; almost like I'm coming down with a cold except I'm not. I'm guessing this is the start of detoxing. I hope I move through this stage quickly because I feel quite yucky.
Sorry to hear you're all going through detox....unfortunately, it sucks but it is for a good reason. It will fade and before you know it, it will be over. I had a few pimples (really nasty ones), increased phlem (two sinus infections), and some stomach issues. Try to drink lots of water, get enough rest, and go for walks when possible :-) I hope this helps....good luck guys....
