Boils

As part of my hereditary gifts from my dear mother's side of the family, I inherited a nasty disease called Hidradenitis Suppuritiva which essentially is the onset of boils starting at puberty. By God's good humor the women get it worse and my mother suffers tremendously as it gets worse with age. Since I have changed my diet (I have chosen 100% vegan and mostly macrobiotic) I have not had one outbreak and it's been two months. I feel so pure inside and so much closer to nature and God. It's miraculous and I'm totally enthusiastic about it. I tried convincing my mother to change her diet to get rid of her disease but she is certain her diet will not change it.

As I think about how her boils have gotten worse with age, I realize so has her health - she's overweight, diabetic, smokes and has had lung problems and blood pressure problems. Perhaps her boils are getting worse because her health is. She must have an innumerably large amount of toxins and impurities in her body that they need to be let out through her boils. I never thought of this before until now writing it.

Well I can only hope to change her through example and pray she gets the message.

I am recently diagnosed as diabetic and when I went through diabetic counseling I learned that boils are common for diabetics. I have had boils off and on since puberty also but no one ever knew what it was. Even my doctor tested me for diabetes over a year ago because I had symptoms, including boils, and the tests were normal. Now, I have diabetes and NOW they understand where all of my symptoms are coming from. I would say that you are probably insulin resistant or pre-diabetic and that is why you have the boils (although I thought it was HS too when they wouldn't diagnose diabetes). I am slowly becoming more vegan because it will help the diabetes and you going 100% vegan is probably why you have been able to reverse your insulin resistant state. If your mother would change even a little of her eating habits she would have better blood sugar control and she might start to see some changes in her body for the better.

Hi all,
I suffered from terrible boils and over ten years ago changed my diet. They went away. I rarely have some very small skin problems when I exceed the limit of what I can eat but the improvement that diet change made for me is unmeasurable.

The superhero plan is a great way to begin the process of getting these sorts of disorders under control.

I personally minimize fruits and grains and eat mostly vegetables, legumes and nuts and seeds. The low glycemic foods work best for me and I've found other benefits to eating this way as well. Preventing blood sugar spikes has long term benefits to health and well being.

For some of us, our impaired metabolism cannot properly process excess calories so whole plant foods tend to work well. If any individual wants to learn how certain foods effect their blood sugar I advise testing with an inexpensive and easy to use meter. You don't need to test forever, but getting an idea what numbers you run after eating this or that or exercising this or that way is really helpful.

I eat a huge pile of greens for every meal and ride a stationary bike afterward. I found that I can avoid all medicines and complications BOTH!
Good luck with Mom, Justin
