Hi all, I'm happy, because yesterday I got two "What have you been DOING? You are glowing!"s from people I see pretty regularly.
I stopped eating meat/replaced most dairy with soy about two months ago, and also stopped taking birth control pills a few weeks in, too. The first month was kind of strange. I felt great inside and energetic, but my normally clear skin went kind of haywire, I had some headaches. I couldn't tell what was causing what. But the second month has been incredible! Food really tastes different to me, and I'm surprised that I haven't craved meat at all. I'm so excited to keep eating this way, and plan to try eliminating all dairy very soon.
YAY! just imagine how you will feel after two MORE months! good for you! in my experience dairy causes way more health issues than meat, so once you completly get rid of that you might even levitate!
So excited for you. I'm on week two, and I love it. I get so excited to eat now (I love to cook now), and I don't even worry about how much, because everything is so GOOD for me. I am really able to hear my body let me know when I am satisfied from a meal instead of overfilling myself with junk. I think this is a great change for us all!
I'm not 100% off of dairy yet. I don't like to waste so I am finishing up my last bit of Kefir milk and then I should be done.
By the way - have you notice that your sweets craving is almost zero?? That's usually my hardest part, and I haven't had that at all!!
Thanks, Ann and Niki! I just found some Dr. Cow cheese near me and can't wait to try it this week. And Niki, YES on the sweets craving. It's such a wonderful byproduct to feel satisfied at the end of a meal, and not that little urge for a cookie or whatever. And now, if I do have a vegan cupcake or ice cream sandwich, I can enjoy just one, there's no compulsive "gotta get my next fix" thing going on. :)
