Although I am not a true super hero yet, I have gotten to a point where I am eating little to no processed food, vegan or otherwise. By processed I mean store bought hummus, pita's, tofu and the like. I went from what I thought was a very healthy diet to the Kind Diet and am so excited with the results. For the past two years I worked out 6-7 days a week, although I enjoyed every minute of it, I really believed that is what I had to do to maintain my weight (which still was not my ideal weight). With this new way of thinking, cooking, living I have lost 10 in one month! I am 37 with three kids, I'm 5'3" and weighed 131 with A LOT of muscles weight, I'm now down to 121 and can actually see all of those muscles I worked so hard for. I still work out 5-6 days a week, but I no longer feel I am a slave to it. I'm curious to see where my weight will stabilize.
I did notice after my initial weight loss it crept back up a few pounds as I indulged in the desserts and a few other delicious vegan tasty's at Whole Foods, etc. Now I am trying to keep it fresh, fresh, fresh and it's still so delicious!
Thank you so much for opening my eyes to see there is more than one way to feed your body!Holly

That is awesome Holly. I am having the same results. I run and train people for marathons but could not seem to lose an ounce of weight. I have been vegan for 5 weeks and have lost 8 pounds. The lowest I have been in 8 years. I had to remember that all vegan food is not healthy food. Vegan foods can be just as processed and high in fat as any other food. So as long as I stay focused I have done well. It is nice finally seeing those muscles.

Wow, that is awesome Holly! Would you mind giving some sample days of what you eat and how you work out? I switched from high protein/low carb to this way of eating (mainly vegan right now but trying to make the superhero switch). But I have gained weight. Which is a total bummer because I actually feel better now. Just gotta get this weight off. Thanks! :)

Could you guys tell me what it did for your skin? I understand it's supposed to make it look great. Exactly how does it affect your skin, how long does that take, and what can I do to make it go more quickly?

me too, i was looking in the mirror from day 1 expecting to see a transformed siren smiling back !! ...but i guess after about 2 weeks i really felt and looked much better, clearer brighter etc. Be sure to drink plenty of water and eat lots of fresh veggies , especially greens and healthy grains to help move out the sludge from your gut. :) :)

I'm so happy to read your results. I'm a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, and I have been eating the typical "clean" high pro and pro shakes way for years. I am now just realizing how that sort of diet is actually pretty nasty for your body, but I was wondering how eating like this would efffect my workouts. Thanks for posting your experience and congrats on your success!

Those of you that are athletes might like Bredan Brazier's book "Thrive". Alicia mentions him in her book, but he's a vegan triathelete who developed his own fitness and diet plan for those involved heavily involved in sports training.
