Are "Man-made materials" vegan?

I went shoe shopping yesterday and was a little confused. I know this may sound like a completely asanine question, but if a shoe is labled "made from all man made materials" does that mean they are vegan?
Apparently the Ethical planet link doesn't work. I even tried to google it and it was a no-go.
but I remembered another one:
www.pangeaveg.com
Thank you sooooo much! I know it seems kind of obvious but you never know if there is a loop hole! ; ) Thanks again!
Michelle, thanks for the info. I was wondering the same thing when I was out purse shopping yesterday. I'm really trying to make a good effort to eliminate animal by-product purchases.
Right before I left to go shopping, I received an email from PETA with a video showing the disgusting, torturous metheds used in the fur trade industry. As horrible as it sounds, I never really gave too much thought to what my shoes were made of. After watching the video I checked out every pair of shoes before I even tried them on and made sure they were made from man made materials. I was able to find 3 really cute pairs and feel so much better about wearing them. Even though I became vegan for health reasons, its beginning to branch out and change my ways of thinking and behaving in other areas of my life. I'm kind of proud of myself! Thanks again, Michelle for your help!
thanks for the links! I love that pangea won't sell shoes made in china due to the PEOPLE ethics behind the labor in many factories there.....
unfortunately, after looking on my own for a while and just now perusing all those fabulous links the thought that came to mind was: how do you tell if a girl is vegan? look at her feet-
why are they all so freakin' UGLY? at least the sandals are, which is what I am in the market for....the search goes on....and on.....and on.....
@Diane. I still have my down comforter. I've had it since well, right before I became vegan 5 years ago. My way of looking about it is you can't change the past. Move forward and make better choices. AND it is actually a good way to tell people what you have learned when they ask you questions about it!!!
@ Ann, Did you look at all of them? Some of them have some seriously cute shoes. I was just trying to cover ALL tastes.
michelle - thanks for the links! I did look but I am so freakin' weird about shoes -I walk so much and have to have comfort, low heel and cuteness - often these three things are mutually exclusive in a shoe! vegan or not! if they are cute, they are high, if they are comfy they are anything but cute, if they are flat and cute they hurt......I'm like the goldilocks of shoes looking for the one that's just right..... I will keep up the search.....
ann- I feel you! I think that's just how it is. Try putting "vegan sandals" into a search engine. You might come up with some good stuff there. If you do let us know.
