Being a superhero vegan and a passionate environmentalist, I am always considering what is healthy for myself, family and planet. So, I am going to throw out my microwave oven for those reasons and wondered what all of you fellow posters thought about my decision? And if you believe as I do that the microwave oven is unhealthy. Thankyou

My husband & I have not had a microwave for two years; even back then, he really only used it to boil water. There is just something refreshing & uplifting about simply watching water come to boil over the stove or in my tea kettle...not to mention taking in & enjoying the entire transformation fresh food undergoes as it cooks. It is much more fulfilling preparing meals from scratch without shortcutting via microwave. It's true my husband & I spend much more time in the kitchen together, & I wouldn't have it any other way ;) It is our most cherished bonding time.

Gave mine to a friend who is on a different path. I am so looking forward to the extra counterspace!!! (: My boyfriend and I love to cook together and it is always a special time when we are in the kitchen preparing the food that will nourish us! <3

Would love to get rid of mine, but I live with my brother who's into frozen dinners a little bit too much..
I still use one at work though, as I often bring soup for lunch. And I still use mine at home sometimes, but thats mostly just cause its there.
