Hi Alyanne! (What a pretty name!) I'm so happy for you - isn't it great?? I totally understand being nervous about finding clients...but there has been so much success I have to believe there is some coming our way as well! Let's keep in touch. Good luck!

Hi to you all! I am currently enrolled at Integrative Nutrition and I feel a connection with the positive and the negatives of the program. I began the program with the LIVE sessions and then switched to the distance learning, which I am enjoying SOOO much more! I felt very under pressure to FIND "clients" during the live sessions and it was very focused on the business aspect. My troubles with the program and my career is feeling bad for taking peoples money for this "6-month program". It's basic therapy that I feel Josh is teaching us. Any suggestions to put a more positive spin on the program and career?

Hi Chelsea,

I agree that the business end of the school might seem a bit "pushy" but I already know I'm not planning on running my business that way. I haven't really gotten into the marketing classes yet, but I did read the FastTrack book and it's a little intimidating! I plan on presenting my potential clients (during their health histories) with the option of a 6-month plan, but also am willing to see them on a per hour basis. Ideally, 6-months would seem to work best because you can track their progress, but I totally understand where you are coming from on not wanting to push people. Nor do I. When I picture my practice, I want them to feel safe and excited to change their lives, not like they are buying a car.

From what I know so far, this is my plan. Of course I know this will be my biggest challenge as well. Even when I do freelance design now, I hate talking price with people! And charging them! But it's something I know I'll have to work on being that I want this to be my soul source of income as of next year.

Any tips you can give I'd appreciate, too, since you are a little ahead. Glad you are enjoying it so much! I'm really concentrating on the nutritional info now and hoping that finding clients will come as we learn more and build more confidence. Let's keep in touch!

To those who are interested, I just got an email this morning offering the Integrative Nutrition e-book to those who call a counselor for free. Just thought I'd pass it on:

Jessica-

Thank you so much for your feedback. You totally made me feel at ease. It's comforting to hear that you are putting your own spin on your practice. Now I feel like getting creative and doing the same! Thank you!

Of course! I think as long as we get the nutritional training from the program (which I fully believe we are) that we can open our business however we please, however makes us comfortable. Good luck and keep me posted on your progress!

Just back to update on my process in school. I am loving IIN! It's been just about 2 months since class started and I have learned a wealth of valuable information. The studetn body is great and I have made many friends. It haven't taken up a ton of my time either which is a big issue for us who work full time. If you have any more questions, email me at jesroyston@me.com. They are running scholarships all the time so I can put you in touch with someone who can help you out. Best to all!
