I'm still trying to understand Miso. I went to the grocery store and there's 3 different colors of it but no explanation as to what they all meant and/or tasted like. So, I chose the yellow kind. I've tried it twice now and seriously don't like it. It's weird. I can tolerate it enough to drink really fast but not to enjoy as a soup. Any suggestions on how to make it better?

So than dont buy the yellow kind... if you cant tolerate it to drink it and enjoy it then theres no point in putting it in your body.

This diet is all about making yourself comfortable and happy while doing something good for the planet and animals. you dont have to follow it to a T.

If something doesnt work for you - then find something that does.

I bought the white miso from whole foods and found it to be quiet mild and delicious. Good luck!! :)

I get the red miso from South River...I boil up mushrooms, cilantro, green onions, red pepper and shoyo and then after I pour it in the bowl I add about 1 tbs of this miso. Alicia says to use a 2 year miso in her book and this is just a one year miso...but I really like the taste and cannot find a 2 year! Not sure why the 2 year anyhow....but figure the one year is probably OK. :)
