Lately-since I decided to be a healthy vegetarian/vegan flirt-I have decided that I may want to go to school and get my license as a nutrionist, obviously specializing in vegetarian/vegan/natural health. I have looked into clayton college for online courses and they seem legit, but also pricey. PLEASE does anyone know of reputable online course for this program? I would LOVE to speak one-on-one with a trained Nutritionist and pick someones brain about how they became licensed and how I can work on getting my degree. thanks all! =0)
I applaud your effort. I do not have a school to recommend. However, I was just talking about this the other day to a friend.
I requested the nutritional data from my local school district, and "kind of" got what I asked for. However, it's appauling to me that there are "nutritionists" employed by the schools and this is the junk we get out of it.
So, BRAVO for taking this on.

I'm not sure where you are writing from but I have been looking at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts for just this purpose! They do have online courses as well and I found them to be much cheaper than other programs. Good luck and let us know if you go through with this new path!
I have been considering the same thing ... I'm obsessed with this new lifestyle ... I love it and I love sharing any info I get. Thanks for any info regarding schools that you guys might have. I'm definitely going to check out the SIHA (thanks Mandy).

I am planning to go to school to become a Nutritionist/Dietitan as well. I would love to hear of some good schools as well.
i will look into that school and keep everyone posted! =0)
I know that the Universtity of Bridgeport, in CT has an online as well as in-person masters program in nutrition. Years ago, I was looking at them because they were one of the very few schools that didn't push the standard bullshit about nutrition - the political propaganda that had nothing to do with health! I am assuming over the years they have stayed steady. Also, the most amazing school for nutrition - BA, MS and PhD - is Cornell in Ithaca NY - not sure if they have complete online programs, but may have some partial residency programs with mainly online components - thats where the author of The China Study teaches!
Did anyone ever find a good holistic health or nutrition school? I'm still looking!
Im taking a nutrition course through the Alive Acadamy of Natural Health. It's an online course and the school is located in Richmond BC. The price is reasonable and it's very informative. I don"t agree with everything they say mostly because they refer to the My Pyramid Food groups a lot which of course includes meat and dairy. They do have a course on vegatarinism which is the next course I'm taking. Actually I'm taking the Advance Nutrition Diploma Program. Once I finish I'll be a Certified Holistc Nutritionist :)
