Just can't seem to go all the way

Hi,
I have been a "fishetarian" for a very long time and every time I try to go vegan I can't. My body seems to do better with eating certain dairy and fish. I'm allergic to most dairy, but I eat cheese. I feel way too hungry whenever I've tried raw food diets or vegan diets. I don't get full from nuts as protein and even soy. Need help!
Have you tried adding a grain like Quinoa to your diet- It's a complete protein and you can do so much with it.
Really make sure you using a variety of veggies, grains, and beans. Add some nuts to a stir-fry or side salad. You do not need to eat all your veggies raw unless you are trying to follow a raw food diet as well as Alicia's kind diet.
Be creative, play around with different grains and veggies to make all kinds of combinations. Try having a warm meal with maybe a salad on the side. Try lots of different types of beans. Use spices, different oils, vinegars and dressings to jazz up your veggies and grains. Play around with Alicia's recipes or look up recipes online. Be creative with the recipes and tailor them to your likes.
Try almond, rice and coconut products, not just soy. It's better if you have variety than just using soy base products. Over doing soy isn't ideal.
Good luck on your journey! :-)
I have difficulty getting full also, thats why I eat some fat foods (not that healthy, but still better than ungoing vegan ;) When I feel i need more heavy foods I eat peunutbutter, fried potato's, chips, put veganaise on sandwhiches and eat lots of chili (beans!). Also I eat wholeweat bread to fill me, when needed.
Since eating vegan I lost weight even eating this stuff (not everyday ofcourse ;)! I was surprised!
Also I am wondering what it is you miss most as Fish is also light food?
What did you snack on before turning vegan?
Hi guys, thanks for your advice. I do eat rice/almond milk, nuts etc. It's carbs that I have a very hard time with. I love Quinoa and eat it regularly. I just can't seem to eat pasta, rice, beans, certain breads, starches without getting a little pudgy. I have actually been doing better lately with not being as hungry as I used to be, but I have severe blood sugar issues and usually always need a heavy meal to feel good and to feel full and to get rid of lightheaded/dizziness. I am going to keep playing around with it and see what happens. I just love how eating vegan makes me feel and how my skin looks and everything else.
The things I miss most are pretty much cheese and sometimes tuna. I can't eat Seitan, I just don't like it. I stay away from most soy products. I have a VERY clean diet, no sugar, no junk food, no processed foods, no packaged/canned foods.
For snacks I usually have grapes, almonds (although I don't get full off of them), fresh fruit, but even apples don't fill me up. The hardest part is when I am between meals and feel severely lightheaded from my blood sugar problems-nothing seems to help except a very heavy snack or a full on meal. Not even a smoothie helps. Weird right?
