I've been doing this superhero thing for a month now, and the past week I've had really bad headaches around 2 pm that last the rest of the day. I must be doing something wrong but I don't know what. Is this normal? Any suggestions for remedies?
My 3rd week or so of going vegan, I had wicked headaches, zits, oily skin etc etc............could you be detoxing?
If you cut out caffiene and you used to drink even small amounts that can give you terrible headaches. My caffiene withdrawl headaches were awful they happened a little while after and lasted many days. I also got headaches after giving up dairy but not as bad at all. Its just normal detox/withdrawl symptoms and can be from processed foods, dairy, caffiene, meat, etc. but it will probably go away. Make sure you are getting B-12 and vitamin D regularly. If you are than it will probably clear up really soon.
I sometimes get headaches around that time of day if I haven' t been eating enough throughout the day...it's like my body suddenly realizes that I'm hungry and lets me know big time....could that be it?
Thanks ladies! I think it might be a combo detox/ not eating enough. I really thought the detox would have been at the beginning, but I am breaking out like crazy and am phlegmy.
I went home and ate an early dinner yesterday and my headache almost instantly went away. I guess I'll have to figure out what else to eat for lunch and bring a better snack to prevent this from happening in the future.
Have you all had detox symptoms after a month? If so, how long does it typically last? I know it will benefit me in the long run, but man is it brutal now.
Mine was never horrible, just very annoying. You're lucky, I can't help but think the worse your detox, the more results you're going to see! Good luck and DON"T GIVE UP!!!!
Thanks for the positive outlook, Lori! It is much needed. This week has been SUPER challenging. I am looking forward to when this phase is over!
You might try rubbing peppermint oil on your forehead, nose, etc. Breathing in the fumes seems to make headaches go away. Just be careful to keep it away from your eyes. Congrats on your decision to be a superhero.
