I'm better again today, but not ready to do the happy dance just yet. It's been almost 4 months and hoping I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Drinking a detox tea about once a day, keeping up with the water and spot treatment with ACV. For me, I think it's about breaking the cycle. The stress about it only make it worse so whatever the initial cause is probably not even causing it any more.

Honestly, use Proactiv. It works!!!!!! Since I started using it, I'm the only teenager I know who NEVER breaks out. Try it!!!

Hi, i to have tried everything to clear up acne and would like to share what's been working for me! I did some research on apple cider vinegar (thanx beth) and can't believe my results. I use a coconut oil soap, a toner made from acv and green tea then moisturize with argan oil. I also put 2 teaspoons of acv with water and drink twice a day. I don't want to brag but my skin is clear and glowing i just had to share. Like beth i'm so hoping it continues to work, good luck!

I got really bad acne when I started going vegan, going through detox was the worst. Since then (March 22) I have had a few slips ups, not with meat but with dairy. There are a lot of things out there that you dont even realize have dairy in them! Anyway, I did notice that if I eat things that have heavy soy in them, my face tends to react to it and if I eat any junk items (chips, etc...) I break out as well. If I drink lots of water and stay away from the processed stuff, my skin looks pretty good!

I have been following this thread for a while bec i have had intense breakouts on my forhead since going vegan 2 and 1/2 months ago. I am mostly superhero but have plenty of vegan days. I know its the detox but it is still so frustrating and upsetting. I feel for anyone suffering from this. I never had skin problems before this so i was so confused. Tried retin A micro and it does NOT work for me. Anyway I bought white vinegar to make my own home cleaning solutions and have been reading on this thread and other natural remedy websites about the healing powers of vinegar but i was skeptical. Well, I shouldnt have been! i finally tried applying it before bed a few nights ago and then again in the mornings after i wash my face. I am amazed at the results. My forhead is quickly clearing up and even seems to be healing the areas where i couldnt resist squeezing a bit!. This has made me so happy and i want to shout it from the rooftops! for 2 bux for a huge bottle of white vinegar or apple cider vinegar you can help keep your skin clear during the detox period. Thank you kind lifers for always being open and honest and soooo encouraging. much love...

So interesting about the soy...over the past few months I have really increased my soy intake and also over the past few months my breakouts have gotten bad and I didn't connect the two until I had read some comments on here on the site. So, I replaced my soymilk with almond milk etc. and wow huge difference in just a few weeks! I never would have otherwise connected the two so thank you for the posts on that!

I don't know if Dermalogica is vegan or not but their products are fantastic. The Ultracalming cleanser and the Clean Start tinted moisturizer have really helped my skin.

I've been veg for 12+ years and have always had bad skin. I just figured it was me, regardless of my diet.

It wasn't until I went mostly raw that my skin cleared up. But the past few months it started to get bad again. Since I was on a limited diet, it was easy to monitor what I was adding back in. Most recently it was soy, I started to make the connection, and wonder if it had been that all a long.

I've been trying to eliminate soy again, and my face is mostly cleared back up... This is Crazy to me, because it was such a staple in our house for so long. Never realized, I was having a reaction to it.

I guess, I'm posting this to say, that it may not be what you have taken out of your diets, but what you added while making the switch (like the others said)

Also to add, I LOVE ACV... I use it for Sooooo many things as a home remedy here... Everything from helping sinus infections to acid reflux, to soaking a broken toe... Bug bites... AH the list goes on... Vinegar is my best house helping friend.

Soy is a common culprit.
