Clueless in the Kitchen

This is a category name for me. If you are like me and fit this classification, there's a new book out that may help. It is called "In the Green Kitchen: Techniques to Learn by Heart" by the famous chef, Alice Waters. The book not only contains how-tos but recipes from Alice and 30 other contributors.
