My favorite is Yes to Carrots brand sunscreen, it is made by a local San Franciscan woman who's father was a carrot farmer! I love all her products actually, I use her 30 spf sunscreen on my body and I use her facial lotion with spf 15 on my face. It's pretty difficult to find a natural sunscreen without parabens and other nasty chemicals and usually when you do find them they can be really pricey for the amount (i.e. burt bees). The only problem i have with Yes To Carrots sunscreen is that it can be slightly chalky on your skin meaning it doesn't rub in super easily...but to me it's worth it!!
I use Alba. You have to rub a little longer to get it not looking white, but it does rub in. I use it for face and body and haven't had any issues. I've also used California Baby and like that as well.
i'm a little conflicted. maybe you all can help...
i am reading that the average adult female body needs about 1 shot glass worth of sunscreen (min.) and needs to be reapplied every few hours or after getting wet, sweating, etc. 1 shot glass is about 1-1.5 oz. (i also saw suggestions based on weight [oz.] as well). a lot of the kind sunscreens i am finding are only about 3 oz. so that would mean paying $16+ for sunscreen, and basically consuming the bottle in one day...
does anyone else see the problem? those of you who already have kind sunscreens, what are your thoughts?
I love Devita Solar Protection Moisturizer. I have somewhat sensitive, oily, and fair skin that burns very easily. This is the first facial sunscreen that I have found that feels great on my skin, doesn't make me break out, and works wonderfully well under mineral makeup while protecting my skin.
I recently tried the "body" version of this sunscreen and love it too. It is completely non-greasy and has a nice scent. Both of these products are vegan, too. :)
This website is a great resource to find a safe sunblock. They list all the sunblocks on the market and what is safe and what is not by ratings of 1-7. I find it very helpful.
