Hi-ya! Does anyone know how to make rice milk?? I love making the almond milk that was suggested in the Kind Diet...

I have a really easy recipe! One cup of cooked rice, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 Tbsp Maple syrup, 1/2 tsp salt. Add 2 cups of water and blend. I have a high speed blender. Then add two more cups and blend. Looks thin but tastes good. We have it on our Rice Millet cereal every morening!
Sweet! Thanks for the recipe - gonna try it now!! Do you rinse your rice off before you cook it? I am wondering if there is any good stuff in that water..
Oooooo, neato - can you guys tell me, how powerful a blender do you need to have to make these "milks" successfully - I'd love to know if mine is powerful enough before I try something I shouldn't and ruin it - LOL!
Yum, am definitely going to try this!
What's the almond milk recipe?? I don't remember reading it.

I make almond milk by blending 1C Almonds with 3C Water, then straining through a cheesecloth. You can add vanilla or sweeteners if you like, but I never feel the need. It's great because you can add the pulp to porridge, muffins, cookies, other baked good or use as crusting for tofu or something.
Thanks for sharing the rice milk recipe. I'll be trying this!

My cuisineart always held up fine; a vitamix would be nice, but--whoa--expensive. Now I usually make smaller batches with my magic bullet.
You can sweeten almond milk with medjool dates, I'm sure it would work with rice milk too:)
Will use the almond pulp now! Awsome idea!
The almond recipe in the Kind Diet is not listed in the back- but you can find it on page 196 under breakfast. Hmmmmmm. Love it.
