I have a really easy recipe! One cup of cooked rice, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 Tbsp Maple syrup, 1/2 tsp salt. Add 2 cups of water and blend. I have a high speed blender. Then add two more cups and blend. Looks thin but tastes good. We have it on our Rice Millet cereal every morening!
Oooooo, neato - can you guys tell me, how powerful a blender do you need to have to make these "milks" successfully - I'd love to know if mine is powerful enough before I try something I shouldn't and ruin it - LOL!
Tara~ I make almond milk by blending 1C Almonds with 3C Water, then straining through a cheesecloth. You can add vanilla or sweeteners if you like, but I never feel the need. It's great because you can add the pulp to porridge, muffins, cookies, other baked good or use as crusting for tofu or something. Thanks for sharing the rice milk recipe. I'll be trying this! Karen~ My cuisineart always held up fine; a vitamix would be nice, but--whoa--expensive. Now I usually make smaller batches with my magic bullet.
