I found that the more I started eating healthy and excercising more my body wanted less and less caffeine. I used to drink a ton of coffee till I started having stomach pain from it, and eventually I started getting stomach pains from even the caffeine in Mate or green tea. I drink kukicha now and I very rarely drink Mate.
Also once I started doing hot yoga I cut down on Caffeine a lot - with all the sweating I am doing, I have to drink a ton of water! When I drink caffeine I have to drink twice as much water to rehydrate afterwards so I found its just less of a hassle to let it go!
I LOVE coffee and went without for 2 months, then found dandilion/chicory "coffee" no caffeine but tastes like coffee. For a "latte" I heat up almond milk add the "coffee" crystals and a few drops of agave nectar...mmmmm
