My Go-To Snack

Here's my new favorite snack - super healthy and filling, when you need more than just a piece of fruit. Takes 60 seconds! It does have some fat but it's the good kind - and has tons of other healthy stuff.


Warm up a tortilla of choice


Brush with oil of choice (I like grapeseed or sesame)


Sprinkle with vegan parm (my health food store makes this from nutritional yeast, walnuts, and garlic salt. Sometimes I make my own. Just nut. yeast and garlic salt would be good too.)


Shower with seeds: I always use pumpkin seeds & pine nuts. Now I just discovered chia seeds and add them too. Sometimes also toasted sesame seeds.


Roll up and eat! :)

I read somewhere that nuts and seeds should be soaked before eating. Does anyone do this? If so for how long?

Soaking nuts and seeds is not an obligation but it is supposed to make you absorb more of their nutrients. If you want to know how to do it, check out this video:

Soaking is also supposed to make them easier to digest, but I rarely do this. Then regret it later.

That does sound super yummy! I just made my 192lb boyfriend a snack from a spin on idea in Alicia's book. Toasted two slices of sprouted sourdough bread, spread some tahini, strawberry preserves, and slivered almonds on the sandwich. He said it was tasty!
