I have a groundhog who keeps sneeking in my garden and having lunch. He already ate all my squash and cucumber plants. I have a fance up but he burrowed under it, Any tricks to keep him away?

Hi kelly, I work at a wildlife rehabilitation facility and get this question a lot. You need to bury any fence 12 inches underground and 12 inches out from the perimeter. It is good if you have a fence that is a bit flimsy so animals can't climb up it to get in either. You can buy Liquid Fence or go to a Home Depot and they also sell coyote urine which works wonders. All of this should be good and hopefully work like a charm. Just putting up a fence for groundhogs won't work as you have found because they are in fact burrowing mammals. Good luck!

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure how "vegan" these sources are. Not sure where they get the urine from (could be farmed) and Liquid Fence is an egg derivitive. Definitely try burying the fence, it usually works. Hope this all helps!
