I purchased some chia seeds because I have heard good things about them but now I'm not sure when and how to use them. Do they need to be soaked before eating? Smoothies? Eat them raw? Salads?

I recently started using chia seeds. I mix 1-2 teaspoons in a cup of juice (currently blueberry/cranberry), stir well, let them soak for 5-10 minutes and then drink them down . . . I use a spoon to make sure I get them all. The energy is amazing and this is very filling. I hope that helps. (I add liquid ashwagandha to the mix . . . peaceful energy . . . )

I use then in overnight oats also, or in just regular oatmeal. Also I sprinkle them on top on coconut yogurt with some granola and fruit. Haven't tried them in smoothies but thats a good idea.

i started using them too recently , i mix them 1 to 9 parts water so it makes what is called a chia gel , then keep it a jar in the fridge to add to smoothies. It can used as an egg replacent in this form apparently for baking..............heres a link for lots more info and recipes -

You can also just sprinkle them over your salad.

I put them in my water bottle at work. I love them! they help me get through the last part of work when i am getting hungry and tired. I just put a big tablespoon in a bottle of water, shake it up and then drink. Its so much fun because they look crazy and feel different from regular water but not in a bad way at all. I bet juice is cool too but I am just a water person. They also help hydrate you more effectively so if you don't feel like doing this all the time definately do it at the gym. I think they really helped me get through a hot yoga class that I tried!
