I know, I know, water is the best thing to drink. Especially in the heat and humidity of the summer. But, I find myself drinking much more fluid when it comes in the form of something like, say, Crystal Light.
Now that I am giving the Superhero plan a whirl I realize that Crystal Light is off my radar.
I'm wondering, what do others drink besides water?
I'd love to hear your suggestions and ideas!
Thanks in advance,
Rachel
I only drink water at this point but used to not like it (how weird it that - we don't like WATER???).
It ain't cheap, but a great drink is SportTea - iced tea that you make by putting the bag in a pitcher of cold water in the fridge - its the iced tea they use at Candle Cafe in NYC - google it, you can order online.
another drink I remember having at Millinium in SF was this mix of apple juice and red zinger celestial seasonings tea, again cold. super good.
you could experiment with stuff like that - iced teas made from herbal teas with maybe a dash of fruit juice if you are used to the artificial sweetner sweet of the chrystal meth....I mean chrystal light.....so glad you are off that stuff!!!
I have been drinking seltzer lately...usually mixed with fortified orange juice or grapefruit juice. The seltzer just says carbonated water with natural flavors...i am wondering what those "natural flavors" are though...anyone know if it is ok to drink?
I tend to drink a lot of water, but also drink decaffeinated tea - hot and iced, fresh juice and smoothies. On occasion I've made lemonade as well.
Watermelon juice is very refreshing in the summer and is filled with the energizing nutrients potassium & magnesium, not to mention vitamins A & C. When I don't have time to juice a melon, I LOVE iced green tea! You can play around with that and add juices such as pomegranate (there's an excellent recipe in Alicia's book).
What about "Green Drink" which is basically water, agave, and chlorophyll. Supposed to be great for you - it tastes good. It's totally raw and plant based, so it seems marcobiotic to me...
I love Kukicha tea! Really nice. I drink it hot and cold, also some unsweetened fruitjuice mixed with water, greentea, fresh mint tea, herbal tea, chai, and miso soup, barley'coffee" ...
