I finally got this cookbook and made my first vegan cupcakes today. I knew cupcakes would be one of the biggest things I would miss. I chose the cookies and creme ones, they were great! I can't wait to make something else.

What I found ironic is I ended up watching Cupcake Wars on the Food Network today. The episode I watched had someone who made all vegan cupcakes. She ended up winning the competition!

I watched that episode too and was so stoked that she won! I cracked up when her competition could not believe that cupcakes without eggs and butter could possibly taste better than hers. She whined and whined, but the judges were clearly liking the vegan cupcakes for their superior taste and texture over 3 other conventional chef's offerings.

I hope that episode and the party that followed launched her cupcake shop to the stratisphere. YAY!

D. Train. I had been thinking about getting Veganomicon, so I will have to pick it up for sure now.

Viki, I was so stoked too that she won. I couldn't take that other ladies attitude about how her cupcakes couldn't have been that great since they didn't have butter. Hopefully her store is a huge success, as you said.

I love the cupcake cookbook! Every cupcake we have made has been delish! The apple cider ones are great with the buttercream frosting. MMMMMM! We just bought their cookie book and are trying some this weekend!
