Early white hair...

I'm 32 and started getting white hairs! I'm really upset about this as I feel I'm too young for this to be happening! (I mean I know it happens to people but I figured it'd start when I was like 40 or so. You know how the plan goes. ).
So any suggestions for hair coloring that's safe and not loaded down with chemicals? Or salons that use a safe hair color?
Thanks!
Hi,
I've gotten my first white hairs when I was between 18-21 yrs. old. I found out it runs in my mothers side, which I was not aware since I was raised by my grandmother on my fathers side.
I met my mothers mother about 5 years a go and she had white hair I know that in your 80's it's expected. The difference is you can see a few natural colored hair and white at that age mostly white, but with her it was ALL WHITE
I'm glad I asked when did she get white hair and she said early in age. Bingo!
Well I know what you mean by getting upset the good thing is I look very young I'm 42 with tons of white hair. I've been dying my hair since I was 28 and didn't have but 3 white hairs as my hair was being dyed for over 10 years I noticed the new growth almost half if not more of my hair was white.

I just continue to dye it and I won't stop till I feel like I look the age to have white hair. I have switched from buying dyes with chemicals to a natural dye that I buy from Whole Foods it's called
Naturcolor http://www.naturcolor.com/pics/homepg.jpg
I haven't tried the Henna brands as I'm scared they might be to harsh for my hair and I'm not sure that I will get the color that I want.
Well I hope you find what you are looking for.

I have been finding white hairs here and there for several years, but I don't care enough to dye it. My Mom has been dying her hair all her adult life and I refuse.
I did notice since changing my diet it slowed down a bit though. But even if I were to turn all the way grey/white, I'd be fine with that. Its how i was made, so no big deal. As long as i can stick my hair in a pony tail, I'm happy.
I have seen several natural'ish dyes at the health food stores though, so hopefully you will find what your looking for.
Thanks Defiant! I'll look into that line. I've seen it at WH before but the dying instructions threw me off a bit as I recall. Will look again. : )
Vegmom,
Good for you in accepting your hair! I'm thinking of just giving in and going this route but it's really hard for me at the moment.
Will look into the diet/slow down thing.
Thank you very much ladies. : )
I started getting grey hairs (we call them grey in the Netherlands ;) in my early twenties! Around 30 i was very grey.... I used to be punk so I coloured all the time and after switched to more natural colors... I am in my forties now and still have to paint very often as my hair grows quickly... I am bored of painting but not ready to be so grey..... Maybe after some years i will do... And believe me I am VERY grey (not just a bit, all my hairs almost)
don't know where you live, but if you are anywhere near NYC (or even planning a trip there!) head for John Masters Salon - lets face it, dye is dye but his is at least an ammonia free salon and the color itself is pretty low impact, I heart john masters!

I'm glad i'm not the only one - I'm in my mid 20s and have been slowly discovering more grey hair over the past 5 or more years. does anyone know of any more natural hair dye brands - i'm still tossing up as to whether to take that route, but i really don't want to be completely grey by the time i hit 30....
I also started going gray early - found my first at 18, and now almost 20 years later I'm very very silver. I've had Aveda color done over the years, and I really like it, but not the price. Especially now as a stay at home mom, I just can't afford to pay almost $200 for cut and color, so I'm looking into some other options.
I found these at home brands, and I'm planning on trying Palette by Nature next time: http://www.actbynature.com/ also, http://www.ecocolors.net/
A friend of mine also found a salon that uses some new brand of natural haircolor. I'm definitely getting a haircut there soon, and plan to ask what brand of color they use - I'll post it once I find out!
Thanks Nicole, I'll look into those ones :)
