Urgent help need from California Residents (Prop 2 Support)

California Governor Arnold only has two weeks left to sign a legislative bill that will require all eggs sold in California to meet Prop 2 guidelines. Prop 2 was voted in a little over a year ago and required more humane treatment for chickens and their living conditions. It required chickens to actually be able to turn around ( pretty basic, right?) and required some other basic right for them.
Please call the governors office at 916-445-2841 and tell him to sign AB 1437. If he signs the legislation it will require California companies to purchase eggs from supplies who meet Prop 2 guidelines. If he doesn't greedy companies will just get around Prop 2 and pruchase eggs from greedy farms who care more about profit then animal welfare!!
Sissy: this legislation appears to apply to animals in pet stores only:
(a) It is the intent of the Legislature to establish standards of
care for animals in pet stores.
(b) Standards of care for animals in pet stores are essential to
ensure the humane treatment of the animals, safeguard the public, and
are in the public interest.
(c) The Legislature does not intend , by this act, to
regulate the care or handling of animals in or on farms, ranches,
livestock or horse auctions, livestock markets, slaughtering
facilities, or any place other than pet stores.
Is there a more current version that addresses the issue you refer to in your post?
