I have a question. I have quite a bit of cellulite on my toosh and on the back of my legs that I'd really like to go away. I hear from some people that diet and exercise can help remove it, and from others that no matter how much you work out, it's there for life. I've always been relatively thin, but there are parts of my body that are generally untoned and have a lot of cellulite. I've been pretty uncomfortable in my skin and am not sure how to get rid of it. I'd really like to get in a bathing suit this year and feel confident and in shape! I feel like everyone has a different stance on the cellulite issue and whether you can get rid of it or not. I eat a pretty healthy, vegetarian (mostly raw vegan) diet and eat a lot of raw fruit and vegetables and don't eat a lot of processed foods when I can avoid them. Any ideas?

Hi Adriana

I've heard and tried dry skin brushing daily as it's helpful to improve your skin's texture and appearance, as well as being good for your lymphatic system. You can buy a good (even vegan) brush many places..get one with a long handle, so that you can brush you back with ease. Always brush towards you heart and begin at your ankles. At your abdomen and around your chest, brush in circles. Always be gentle with your brushing and use long stokes. I hope over time you'll see enhanced skin texture :) Also remember that something like 90% of women have cellulite, so don't feel alone :)

Cellulite is genetic and has to do with how the fat layers in your body lay on top of one another. True that eating well and exercising can decrease your percent body fat and improve cellulite, but it will probably always be there to some degree. Cellulite creams can temporarily reduce the look of cellulite by plumping up the skin. Don't worry about it too much...I still have cellulite even when I'm in shape to run 30 miles and follow a vegan diet! I've given up on that battle :)

I had quite a bit of cellulite after my son was born-Finally 8 years later I decided to change my life I work out 6 days a week lots of cardio-elipitical and strength training w my legs-I also tan( I know bad) but a tan body looks better. It has been 3 years since I revamped my life and I look better than I ever have-I feel that lots of water and green tea, exercise,a vegan life wil help.I also do the dry brushing mentined earlier. Stick with it-

Try some jump rope workouts which helps with cellulite. I have also found that dry body brushing helps cellulite and it also feels awesome. A full body brush before you shower is great. I've also found that using coconut oil as a full body moisturiser has helped me, which was a nice surprise! :)

Have a look at Bodecare body brushes, they make the best pure plant bristle brushes and there is a huge selection.
