Fantastic Vegan Shampoo and Conditioner

Hi All,
It's been awhile since I last posted. Had a few surgeries but on the mend now. I wanted to share with you how happy I am to see more and more Organic products in my local stores and pharmacy's. It shows how much our conciousness is changing towards helping the planet and all who live on it and within it :) I found through trying many new organic shampoos/conditioners there is one that is my most favorite and gives me the results I have been looking and hopping for. The product is Totally Vegan and is by Loreal. It is there EverStrong Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner http://www.lorealparisusa.com/_us/_en/default.aspx#/?page=top{userdata//d+d//|diagnostic|main:brandpage:everstrong|media:_blank|nav|overlay:_blank} It makes my hair feel softer than it's felt in years and is shiny. I have no problem with tangles either like I do with many of the other organic shampoos/conditioners I've tried. I found it while browsing other orgaincs in my local Stop and Shop grocery store. Try it out and let me know what you think. It's really great and so affordable.
I really like this shampoo...the only part I worry about is the parabans. Otherwise, it works well and has no sulfates. I do switch up my shampoo every now and then since no matter what, otherwise I get product buildup. I switch it up with Organix coconut shampoo or Giovanni tea tree oil shampoo. I would recommend either one whole-heartedly.
Overall, I like my hair, but it really is a pain in some ways. It's thin and blond, so I really do have to wash it daily or its an oily mess. I can't use any type of conditioner for the same reason. Despite being thin though, it's healthy and relatively bouncy and I think the reason is the vegan shampoos (and the healthy food, hopefully!).
Geez I feel bad now that I suggested this not knowing that Loreal tests on animals. I thought since it says VEGAN on the bottle it was ok and I did see the sulfate free so tthought it was all good. I appologize for miss leading out of lack of true information. I do love the product but will stop using it since it tests on animals. What a bummer. Guess you have to really check thoroughly and not just count on it being good all around when it says VEGAN :( Thanks for setting me straight Danielle. Anne I am blond too. Very light blond and have baby fine hair but a lot of it. I used to wash my hair all the time feeling the same as you did that it would get oily quick but then I stopped doing that. I realized I was washing out all my natural oils. Now I wash my hair 2 times per week and my hair still looks clean and light without oil when I go to wash it the second time in that week. I just had to let it get oily at first. Instead of every day I went to every other for a two weeks and then every two days for two weeks and finally it got to be so much easier and healthier and cleaner I felt. That is what worked for me. You might have to play around with the cutting back times but try to hold off a bit even if you feel your hair feels gross it will start to change. I too have used the Organix. The one I like is the Cherry Blossom/ Ginsing. But still feel it just doesn't make my hair feel or look as good as the Loreal. But now that I know just because Loreal puts on it's label Vegan it doesn't mean not animal tested. I'm so disappointed in them for fooling me and I'm sure many of their customers. :(
I LOVE the Giovanni Smooth as silk conditioner. It is AMAZING. And the shampoo and conditioner from Max Green alchemy. I have tried it all. these are THE best vegan one's out there
It is possible that they don't test that specific shampoo on animals, but the company still does animal testing. I read somewhere that they will stop all animal testing by 2013.
Danielle where can I get Lush products? I would like to try them. Catconsrv it amazes me how Loreal can say they will stop animal testing by 2013. Why not NOW??? If a company knows they are doing something terribly wrong and inhumane at the deepest level why would they wait? That alone would stop me from every buying any of them products and I so loved their mascara and this EverLast Shampoo. How can it be called VEGAN and still animal test? Am I just stupid? It doesn't make sense. I would think VEGAN means no animal or testing or cruelty etc AT ALL!!!! So disappointing. Thanks for all your input. I'll be checking back to see if Danielle can tell me how to get Lush products. Talk to soon. Thanks again all for the help Shelley
I know Shelley, it's ridiculous. I'm not sure if they are in the process of developing non-animal related tests . . . I know this takes a lot of time. Just like medical testing, it would be great if they could just up and stop right now. Things are moving in that direction with the help of PCRM and other organizations that are developing new tests, but it will take soooo long to get it out of the system entirely.
Hi Danielle and Catconsrv. Thanks so much for your help and advice I so appreciate it. I will be checking out Lush website and the bar of soap for shampoo. I too think it sounds weird but always open to trying something new. There is always a first time for everything right?...lol..I'll let you know how I make out. I hope there will be a Lush by me. I always like to go and actually see and feel and product. It's hard sometimes to get things online and really know what you'll get when it arrives. Pictures don't always seem to be as accurate. :)
Hi Danielle,
I checked the website to see if there was a store near me. The closest is over an hour away unfortunately. But like you said I can still order online. Which soap/lotion all in one did you buy. I'd like to try that and which of the shampoos do you like? Thanks Shelley
LUSH!! Oh yeah! LUSH has stand alone stores plus some leased space within many Macy's stores. They have so much more than shampoo and conditioner...all kinds of face and body lotions, soaps, bubble bath 'bombs', body scrubs, etc. My favorite splurge store. The solid shampoos (formed like hockey pucks) lather and foam up so much it's incredible and my blonde (natural and highlighted) hair is so soft and shiny.
