So today proved to be a very interesting day for me. I had a craving for pasta today and it so happened that the cafeteria where I work was serving cavatelli (has ground beef in it). I asked for a half order of it, and picked out as much of the beef as I could. Within an hour, I was feeling quite sluggish and tired. And then I discovered I was also starving! I have spent the remainder of the afternoon snacking on a variety of things, some of which are good for me, others that were not. The connection clicked with me today - when I don't eat at least somewhat clean I end up munching all day long. Even if I'm eating things that are good for me, that overall can NOT be a good thing! Today was the first day in 16 days that I have had meat that wasn't fish, and I have no intention of doing it again anytime soon. (Now if I could only wean myself off my diet soda.....)
Just wanted to share my mini-discovery for today. 
Melissa I had a similar experience today. I went to lunch with the girls and had pasta. It was covered in 5 different cheeses. It was good, but I feel terrible. I am bloated, sluggish, tired I wish I had just stuck to a veggie meal! I haven't eaten meat in a month, but now I am seeing and feeling it when I eat any product that is animal based.
