I'm late, since I read TKD right after Christmas, but I wanted to say thank you to Alicia for writing TKD. The recipe for the daikon drink has helped me out immensely when it comes to cramps. I've always hated how I had to rely on Aleve or Midol for years when I had horrible cramps. I'm so thankful I can gulp down a vegetable, a VEGETABLE (!) and not a pill (!), and the pain goes away! Also thanks for the umiboshi plum/green tea drink and the info on the health benefits of miso. Last month I was really sick with a flu bug, shared with me by my loving husband, and I had zero energy and felt so foggy. I remembered later in the week that I'd read something in TKD about miso and dug out my book and made the tea and soup and seriously within the hour my body perked up and my head cleared. It was like someone had flipped a switch! So I'm a total believer and convert and I've already shared this info with my family. Will always make sure I have these foods in my house.
