Has anyone found a vegan equivalent or replacement for using ranch dressing. I love salads & veggies, but most of the time I've always used ranch dressing & now that I'm not using dairy, I'm having a tough time finding something I really like. I tried the goddess dressing & I just don't really care for it. I'm not a real fan of that strong vinegar taste, so I've been trying different ones to try & find ones that I like. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

you can also do it with cashews too!!.. i dont have an exact recipe..i do everything to taste and consistence in the food processor (you can use a blender too) I use soaked cashews, water,

1 cup soaked cashews(about 2-3 hrs or until soft)
3/4 cup water
lemon juice
start with a 1/2 tsp garlic powder
start with 1/2 tsp onion powder
start with 1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp dried dill (if you want)

and when i tried this..it didn't quite have the taste of ranch...so i added some vinegar, and dijon mustard, more lemon juice black pepper..and kept blending and tasting and eventually got it to taste right..(my dad whose DEFINATELY a meat and cheese kind of guy said it was good too)

Good post I was wondering the same thing.. I even looked that last time I was at the store at the ingrediants of the ranch seasoning packets to see if they had any dairy in them or not.. so that maybe I could mix them with tofutti sour cream to make a thicker ranch dipping sauce for veggies for my son. I didn't see any dairy included in the ingrediants at a quick glance when I looked at it but I still wasnt 100% sure so I didn't buy it.... hmmm. Danielle yours sounds pretty good too though.

I searched the forums to see if anyone else had posted about this, but today in Whole Foods I found a Vegan Ranch Dressing by Follow Your Heart, the folks who do Vegenaise. I've never seen it before, so I don't know if it's new or new to Whole Foods, but it's yummy. Similar ingredients to Vegenaise so if you do OK with it, it's worth a try. It does have brown rice syrup in it, for folks like me who limit their sugar intake.

So glad I found this post - I LOVE ranch dressing. I think I could just drink it! I think I'll try veganrockergirl's recipe.
