Paper or cans better for the environment and me?

Hi all, just wondering if anyone knows whether paper or aluminum cans are better for me and the environment. I want to know because I'm very active and drink a lot of water, but also coconut water and it comes in either cans or paper boxes like what nut milks come in. So I recycle the cans and I guess the paper is biodegradeable, but what do you think is better??? Thanks for any input!
