If it's highly refined, why is Stevia "ok" opposed to something like Splenda? I hate all of the other artificial sweetners and usually use Splenda. I'm very interested in learning more about this, I was gonna pick some up tomorrow...smiley-tongue-out.gif

Stevia is made from a plant and therefore all natural. It's also ZERO calories and low-glycemic. Splenda is chemically derived, artificial, and considered a "fake" sugar, which is never as good as something plant-sourced and natural, at least as far as Kind Lifers are concerned.

If you want a less-processed stevia product, consider brands like SweetLeaf, which is the whole leaf extract.

Trader Joe's has the most reasonably priced stevia that we've found; my husband uses it daily in his coffee. Buy it in bulk (meaning, the big jar) vs. the little packets to save on packaging waste. Expect to spend about $5.99 and up for the stevia, but it's worth it.

It does have a bitter aftertaste that you have to get used to.

Sure, Melissa! I kinda cheated a bit, as my husband is a natural products expert and just wrote a Stevia report for work this year. HA! Small world, eh? Thanks for friending me. Not sure how much I'll interact with that part of the site, but I accepted! I love connecting with people via this forum and learning/sharing stuff.

Cheers!
