Hi everyone! I'm recently engaged and will be planning a vegetarian wedding next year in either Michigan or the Hocking Hills region of Ohio. Does anyone have any suggestions for a vegan or vegetarian caterer? Thanks!

Congrats!!

I don't know about caterers, but i know the Pattycake Bakery, in Columbus, is vegan and they do cakes!! Hocking Hills would be beautiful for a wedding!!

Thanks for the tip! We happened to go to the Hocking Hills to pick up our puppy from a shelter, and were amazed at how beautiful it is down there! We are considering getting married out in the forest, near a waterfall or something like that, and then having dinner at a lodge. We're thinking we will just invite our immediate families and very close friends...can't wait to start planning!

Congrats Lauri!

I think Inn Season Cafe in Royal Oak (MI) does catering. If not, they may have some sources.

If I think of any others I will post them.

Hi, Lauri!

I am not up and running yet, but would be happy to help if I can! I'm in the process of opening a veg personal chef business (not necessarily a full-service catering operation) but I'm just starting to meet some people who are full-on caterers. I've heard of some on the West Side of Michigan (GR area).

I suppose it depends on how many people are coming and all. At the moment I'm only really equipped for showers, dinner parties, etc. and am ramping up my in-home personal chef services, hoping to be fully operational next spring.

I volunteer with VegMichigan (www.vegmichigan.org) -- I'm their newsletter editor, etc. If you find our Facebook page, maybe you could ask there and someone could know? Just an idea. I'll let you know if I hear of anything else.

Feel free to check out my stuff here (again, the biz blog is in its infancy -- the real site and logo, etc. are in the process now and I file my business papers with the state next week!

Hope that helps!

Kirsten

Thank you all so much for your input!! We're getting closer to the wedding date and are getting excited! Because we are having a tiny wedding (about 20 people), we haven't done a lot of the planning yet, but it's time to start!
