I've been using Vegan Organic beauty products forever except mascara. I can't find a good one that lasts long without running down my face! Has anyone found a good mascara that can last a while? Please help!!

Bare Essentuals has a good one, hard to remove at the end of the day. I save it for when I really need to be waterproof.

100% Pure has good mascara, but it isn't waterproof.

I looked on the Bare Essentuals website, and not one of the mascaras listed are vegan. And none of the mascaras 100% Pure has are vegan, either.

I know Zuzu Luxe has some vegan items. A waterproof mascara may be one of them. Beauty Without Cruelty has some waterproof mascaras. If you go to Veggie Boards and search "vegan mascara", you'll pull up several threads. If you have time you can scan through some of 'em.

I haven't found a vegan mascara that I love yet, let alone a waterproof one. But ZuZu Luxe's is pretty good. And their line is all vegan, so whatever you get from them is safe. BUT its not waterproof.

I think the company "Beauty Without Cruelty" makes a waterproof mascara. I found it on www.alternativeoutfitters.com.

I really think that "waterproof" and "vegan" can't go together... Why? The most ingredients that make a mascara real waterproof are toxic and I guess this is something that none of us would like to use on our delicate eyes.

I post you a link to an ex-insider of the beauty business, came across her blog just a few weeks ago, I really think she knows what she's talking about (either she's writing in sometimes harsh words - only for over 18's :-)): http://beautyandthebullshit.blogspot.com/2010/08/deciphering-mascara-claims.html. What do you think?

I use Gabriel Cosmetics mascara and I haven't had a problem with them. Not much flaking that I have noticed.

Has anyone tried the Beauty Without Cruelty waterproof mascara, I was wondering how hard it is to get off. I don't want to scrub my eyes just to get it to come off.

vegan means "free of animal products"

i dont equate vegan with organic. right now it seems its one or the other. i know which side ill choose :) at least a chemical will *potentially* harm only me (by causing allergies or irritations. and luckily, im very rarely, actually never, irritated by makeup products) while animal products hurt millions. urban decay is my favorite makeup line and they have 2 mascaras listed on the vegan page, though i believe neither are waterproof...
