I couldn't believe what I heard my daughter say

I have been a vegitarian and vegan/ flirt since March of this year. I am the only one in my family who has taken on this lifestyle. My husband and two teenage daughters still embrace the carnivor life but are very supportive and will try new things. Most of the meat they eat is outside of the house since I seldom will make anything for them containing meat. There is always meat in the house for them and they are very capable of cooking it if they wish to eat something different then i am making.

Now that you know our background I wanted to share with you what happened on Saturday. We were doing the school shopping we were a bit strapped for time since my oldest daughter needed to get to work. So I was picking up some chicken for my husband from the deli and had asked my daughters what type they would like. My oldest was quick to place her order but my youngest was hesitant and this was unlike her. After additional coaxing she finally said she didn't want any chicken. Her reply to my surprised look was... " I FEEL BETTER WHEN I DON"T EAT MEAT" Mind you that this was very hard for her to admit since she held on tightly to her carnivor rights. Her and I were both happy with some brocolli salad ontop a bed of lettuce.

I was happy that she was able to notice this difference on her own and that it wasnt just because I would tell her it was so. I also believe that since I didn't make too big a deal at her confession that she will be more likely to make healthier choices in the future.

This is fantastic especially since she probably feels good about making her own decision regarding her body and heath! Good for her!
