Hi guys,

Just wanted to share that my family (2 sisters and mum) are no longer on the meat and gravy train! My youngest sister, (15) has been a flip-flopping vegetarian for a while, but ever since i went vegan she has stayed with it, then yesterday she announced she is no longer eating dairy!!

My other sister (17) jumped straight into veganism a few months after I did and she has never looked back. My mum has also became vegetarian to support us :)

I am not at all taking responsibility for their choices, but i definately feel I influenced them and I feel really good that they are making such great changes for their health and the environment.

Anyone else had a similar experience with their family/friends??

We have "veganized" my brother-in-law, my husband's aunt, and one of our friends. They are all doing it for health reasons, but the fact that they are also not killing animals is good enough for me regardless of if it is not their reasoning! It feels great to spur change. We gave them all the information, set a good example of healthy vegans, and they decided on their own to make the change. Good for your sisters and mom too!

My mom who was always eating her meat like it was showing how well she was doing (statusreasons) is almost eating NO meat anymore, she also halved her dairy-intake, buys almots everything organic now. She is reading the Kind Diet now, i am curious what effect that will have :)

Also some of my friends started eating less meat and dairy!

My sister got on the vegan train about 1 week after I did and my parents have both started to consume way less meat and dairy and have been flirting with vegan resturants. So far the feedback is great! Also my dad had gout so for him, the whole vegan thing is like a whole new world of food to explore and he seems grateful. Also two close friends have began the flirting process! I try not to bring up my vegan passions with people but my friends seem positively curious and they get super excite to hear about all the benefits and especially the benefits to the planet which they had no idea about. Neither did I before going vegan so it feels nice an warm inside to open vegan doors for people and gently say-Hey, come inside its amazing in here!
