Where does everyone get there protein and calcium? Is there a supplement out there that i can take for calcium. It feels like i have been eating nothing but salads for the last couple weeks. Is tofu good and what is all in it? I just need a little help because i have been feeling hungry lately and can't seem to get full on my fruits and veggies.

Hi,

Visit vrg.org and go to the vegan section to learn about the nutrients you need to focus on and where you can get them. You won't need a calcium supplement if you vary your diet enough. In fact, the only true supplement you may need is B12, but again the amount you need depends on your diet. I would take a multiple with minerals as a safeguard and supplement extra vitamins and mineral as needed if you aren't getting what you need via food and fluids. Tofu is great and versatile. There are so many recipes out there so experiment and vary your diet. You are definitely going to be hungry if all you're eating is salads! Make sure to include plenty of whole grains, beans/legumes/nuts and seeds/additional protein as desired and needed, such as tofu/tempeh/seitan, etc... --Sara, RD
