ok, so i have been vegan for about 4 years now..

i have always had acne. and i always end up going back to proactiv. which i hate because i know it's so bad for your skin! every once in a while i try to venture out and try a natural/vegan line and i break out like crazy for months so i just go back to proactiv.

well, i finally found something i LOVE. it's called ren and you can get it at sephora. it's vegan too. i started using the acne line...so far i just use the cleanser but i love it and it doen'st make me break out.

maybe this didn't go through??

i used to use proactiv and it's bad for your skin but it's the only thing that would keep me clear for years. every once in a while i would try to venture out and try a new vegan line and i would break out like crazy. now i use REN and it's amazing! i use the acne line (clay). you can get it at sephora...after feb 1st you can order it directly through ren's website.

i love this stuff! my skin looks great..i still get a small pimple here and there but they are nothing compared to what i used to get!

ok NOW i see it. sorry still getting used to this forum!

wow thank you for this!

I never broke out before going vegan but since lovely vegan life began my forhead has been breaking out like crazy. It is so frustrating, even if it is detox, I'm just not used to it. I have been trying to find vegan face care but like you, I feel like they either don't do anything or make it worse. I will definitely check this out. much love!

good luck tali! i know how frustrating it can be! i dont know how long you've been vegan or how long you've been breaking out, but i know my break outs have A LOT to do with sugar and wheat. try REN out through sephora..they have a great return policy! hopefully it will work as good for you as it does for me! :)

Tali, you are detoxing, please do not give up on this life style,, be sure you are drinking plenty of water. I have been looking at products and looking at Korres, the 3n1 cleanser.

I don't have bad problems with acne, but I will break out from time to time. i also have sensitive, combo skin, and rosacea. I've been through every natural skin care line at Sephora and quite a few at Whole Foods. Never found anything I loved. They either dried my skin out, made it too oily, caused breakouts, caused rosacea flareups or excema or just made my skin dull.

Then I found Talulah. My skin hasn't looked this good since puberty (I'm now 31)! Not to mention, they are completely natural, mostly organic, handmade in small batches. The woman who owns the company has had many offers for a buy out, but she wants to keep the standards high, so she has not sold out. Best part, most of the products are vegan, and the few that aren't are very clearly listed (as vegetarian).

Check out the website and support good people doing good things while looking great, too!

Thanks for the support and kind words Lisa and Patty an Tizmarelda! I have been vegan for 4 months now and i LOVE this way of life so much, there is no way I would give it up! Whenever the breakouts frustrate me I just calm myself down and breathe through it. I also remind myself what my body is actually going through and I should thank my body for its amazing ability to detox and clean out my system. So cool. I am so much happier in my body these days and I feel great, tons of energy!

Lisa, yes for sure I have noticed that sugar goes along with the break outs. Im superhero most days and stay away from processed stuff and sugar on my vegan days, especially since noticing the connection between the sugar and breakouts. Thankyou for mentioning wheat bec I did not make that connection so I will be on the lookout for it!

Patty, Thankyou for mentioning water. I notice when i drink alot of water that my skin looks better the next morning. I easily dehydrate and i have to remind myself to drink water so it's great to hear the importance of it and the encouragement.

much love and miles of smiles!

I have stopped using vegan products. I switched to mineral skin care product of Omorovicza instead. Never had a problem. Although sometimes there are breakouts from time to time especially if I'm stressed out.

If you are interested in something that is 100% natural I suggest Olivier Soaps. www.oliviersoaps.com. All of their skin care products are 100% naturals and made with only natural, raw materials. I love the products so much I decided to become a US rep for them. I was sold when their baby soap helped my daughters rashes and dry skin go away. Feel free to e-mail me with questions michellec-rep@oliviersoaps.com. I can send you come samples if you are interested. Have a great day~

As a former cosmetician I am pretty picky about skin care. I was really discouraged and thinking I might not be able to find a line that is actually effective as well as vegan. I mean, you can crush marigolds and herbs and that's vegan, but it won't DO anything if you spread it on your face.

I now really love the dermaE line. They use a lot of ingredients that can be found in very high end lines, ingredients that have been extensively tested and are effective. A couple of their products use beeswax but their items are clearly labeled 'vegetarian' or 'vegan'. LOVE!
