Hi All,
As all of my gluten free buddies know, and hopefully most of the non-GF buddies as well, Gardein is NOT gluten free...yet. Gardein is made in my hometown, as is Daiya. I am very proud of my hometown and wish that I could partake in Gardein because I really believe in it.
Having said that, I have contacted Gardein several times and asked when a GF option might be available. While they recognize the need for it, they make the majority of their products with Vital Wheat Gluten which is an amazing source of protein...for those that can tolerate gluten. Everytime that I write, I am told that their Research and Development department is working on it and that my comments will be passed on.
What I am hoping is that if enough of us contact Gardein, it might light a bigger flame under the R&D department. Celiac Disease and gluten intolerance are becoming more and more prevalent as the months go on. I think that we should all be allowed to eat some really great food and I hope that you will help me in my campaign to have Gardein develop products for all of us veggies out there that would love to have some ease in their meals.
